Needing to Lose Some Pounds While Going Through Menopause?
Needing to lose some pounds while going through menopause?
While there are countless strategies to help you reach your weight loss goals, sometimes it's equally important to identify the things you should stop doing.
Let's dive into the things you need to avoid if you're trying to lose weight:
Obsessing Over the Scale: While it's natural to want to track your progress, becoming fixated on the number on the scale can be counterproductive. Weight fluctuations are normal, especially during menopause, due to hormonal changes and water retention. Instead of letting the scale dictate your worth, focus on non-scale victories such as improved energy levels, better sleep, and increased strength. We do this every Friday in my groups!
Skipping Meals: Many women fall into the trap of skipping meals or drastically reducing their calorie intake. This approach can backfire and sabotage your metabolism, leading to increaed hunger, cravings, and potential overeating later in the day. You need to eat enough to lose enough! We practice Intermittent Fasting but we do NOT skip meals! Timed Nutrition!
Neglecting Strength Training: Many women shy away from strength training, fearing they'll bulk up or look masculine. However, strength training is essential for building lean muscle mass, boosting metabolism, and sculpting a toned physique so you feel confiden and comfortable in your clothes.
Restrictive Dieting: Crash diets, extreme calorie restriction, and cutting out entire food groups may offer short-term results, but they're not sustainable or healthy in the long run.
